The Dallas Cowboys are less a football team and more a soap opera these days, it seems. The never-ending drama around quarterback Dak Prescott, Owner Jerry Jones, Head Coach Mike McCarthy, and company are creating viral headlines and hot takes all the time.

They need no help from family members, but that’s exactly what it appears happened, as stud wide receiver CeeDee Lamb’s mom allegedly popped off on Facebook to trash Dak Prescott.

As far as I can tell, that is indeed CeeDee Lamb’s mother, Leta Ramirez. It does seem like the post was made on Sunday, the day Dallas was eliminated from the NFL Playoffs by Green Bay. There’s no way any Cowboys fans can be happy about this.

Flat-out, if you’re an NFL family member, you can not get caught doing this under any circumstances, especially not if you’re related to the star wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, and you’re talking trash about the quarterback. That’s not going to play well in the locker room, it is surely causing issues between Prescott and Lamb, and it’s just more distractions for a franchise that always seems to have too many distractions

It is true that Dak Prescott did not play well in Sunday’s humiliating 48-32 home playoff exit to the Green Bay Packers. Two first-half interceptions, including a pick-six, saw Dallas go down 27-0 at one point. But, Prescott had an outstanding season, throwing for 4,500 yards and 36 touchdowns against just 9 interceptions.

A lot of those yards and completions went to CeeDee Lamb, too. Lamb had a career year, catching 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Yes, the Cowboys fell short in the playoffs once again, but that’s more of a cultural issue than a Dak Prescott issue, it seems.

But, Dak Prescott helped CeeDee Lamb make a ton of money, and he’s likely to get an extension this offseason. I sure wouldn’t complain about someone who helped my son earn a $100 million+ contract.

The team did decide to bring back Mike McCarthy this week, and now he is going to have to deal with this. Welcome back, Mike!
