Charissa Thompson Opens Up About Tragedy That Cost Her Sense Of Personal Security

Charissa Thompson, the popular host of FOX NFL Kickoff and Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football, found herself grappling with a rollercoaster of emotions following a recent break-in at her Los Angeles-area home.

The incident prompted Thompson to share her ordeal and send a profane message to the “professional” thieves responsible for the break-in.

Speaking on her iHeart podcast, “Calm Down with Erin and Charissa,” Thompson recounted to Erin Andrews about the moment she discovered her home had been robbed.

While she was at her ranch, she received a text message informing her that the alarm had gone off around 12:15 a.m., leaving her perplexed. She quickly checked her security cameras, only to witness two individuals fleeing her house with bags in hand. Thompson’s immediate reaction was a mix of shock and distress.

The television host tearfully described the feeling in her stomach as she realized the severity of the situation. She lamented, “Holy s—, I’ve just been robbed.” Thompson proceeded to analyze the footage from her other cameras, attempting to gather as much information as possible about the burglars.

She discovered that three men had trespassed through her backyard, scaling a 15-foot fence and breaking a window to gain entry.

Impressed by the efficiency and professionalism of the burglars, Thompson acknowledged that they knew precisely how much time they had, spending a mere four minutes inside her residence. This revelation left her in awe of their calculated approach to the crime.

Thompson also touched upon her previous encounters with stalking and hacking, further intensifying her concerns about security. Recalling her past experiences, she stressed the importance of feeling safe within her own home.

Despite taking extensive precautions and investing heavily in security measures, such as owning a German Shepherd and a husky, the intrusion still occurred.

In a moment of defiance and levity, Thompson amusingly criticized the burglars for their choice of loot. She revealed that they had even taken her pillowcases to carry the stolen items, failing to bring their own bags for the operation.

Thompson playfully admonished the thieves, saying, “If you wanna rob me, bring your own f—– bag. Okay. Don’t take my nice pillowcase.” She sarcastically noted that her pillowcases were of Italian thread count, expressing amusement at the idea that the burglars thought they had made off with valuable items.

In truth, Thompson had hidden her more valuable possessions elsewhere, out of their reach.

Thompson did say the most valuable thing the burglars took wasn’t any possessions, but her own sense of security.

Although the burglary was a distressing experience for Charissa Thompson, she demonstrated resilience and a sense of humor in addressing the situation.
