Equipment was stolen earlier this week at Soldier Field, home to the Chicago Bears.

A Soldier Field manager said someone stole equipment, including gators and lawn mowers, from a parking structure at the NFL stadium.

The estimated loss is over $100,000.

It happened sometime overnight on Wednesday.

Staff said the thieves tore down a security fence to drive the equipment out of the garage.

Da Bears. What a week in Chicago, for all the wrong reasons. And, honestly, someone stealing the lawn mowers may be a sign to just end the season. No need to mow the field, just pack it up until next season.

In case you missed it, the Bears were embarrassed on Sunday by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 27-17. Don’t let that score fool you, the game was not close at all. Chicago was out gained nearly 2:1, and quarterback Justin Fields looked terrible once again.

Things got weird in the middle of the weeks. Fields threw the coaching staff under the bus, blaming his struggles on anyone but himself.

There’s some truth to that, as the scheme in Chicago does stink. But, Fields has shown absolutely no ability to process quickly enough to read NFL defenses at a competent level.

Then, on Wednesday, things really hit the fan when defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigned amid rumors of of an FBI raid at his home and at the team’s facility, Halas Hall. Those rumors seem unfounded at this point.

To make matters worse, the 0-2 Bears will travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in what is setting up to be a shellacking.

In the meantime, they’re going to be needing a new tractor.
