The Chiefs Should Replace Cowboys As ‘America’s Team’ According To Bob Costas

Bob Costas believes it’s time for the Dallas Cowboys to be stripped of their “America’s Team’ moniker.

Next Sunday, the Chiefs will play in their fourth Super Bowl in five years, while the Cowboys were eliminated early in the playoffs.

Costas went on CNN earlier this week and argued the Chiefs should be America’s Team due to their recent dominance in the sport.

“I think the Chiefs, now it can safely be said, are America’s Team,” Costas said on CNN.

“The Dallas Cowboys have had that moniker for a long time, and there’s still a glamour franchise, but they haven’t been at the Super Bowl since the mid-’90s. But now the Chiefs have been to four of the last five Super Bowls. They have the best quarterback (Patrick Mahomes) in the game, even though others are really good. He’s exciting. He improvises. He’s charismatic.”

Costas also noted that you don’t need to know much about football to know about the Chiefs.

“You don’t have to know the difference between a field goal and a screen pass to know something about the Kansas City Chiefs.”

Maybe Costas is right and it’s time the Chiefs officially become America’s Team.
