The Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII and Patrick Mahomes had a big part in the win. He led his offense to 31 points in the game, but Jalen Hurts led his offense to 35 points. Now Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce says the Super Bowl MVP away might’ve gone to the wrong player.
It was an explosive offensive showing by both teams on Super Sunday. With Kansas City and Philadelphia going toe to toe and scoring on nearly every drive they had in the game.
Due to a great heady play by Chiefs Linebacker Nick Bolton, returning a fumble 36-yards for a touchdown, the Chiefs eventually out-scored the Eagles 38-35.
After the game, the Super Bowl MVP award was given to KC’s quarterback Patrick Mahomes. He was the leader of the winning team so it made sense. But looking at the stats, it appears Jalen Hurts outplayed him, and it’s not very close.
The new era of young talented QBs was on full display last night. The future is bright for the NFL.

Travis Kelce Believes Jalen Hurts Could’ve Won the Super Bowl MVP
Jalen Hurts scored 35 points points by totaling four touchdowns and 374 yards of offense. In the process he set the Super Bowl record for yards rushing by a quarterback (70).
Mahomes also benefited from a couple of wide-open touchdowns that head coach Andy Reid schemed up.
On his New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce, along with his Eagles center brother Jason, discussed Jalen Hurts’ performance.
“He arguably could’ve won MVP even with the loss. The way he just.. with how many touchdowns, he was just lights out. With his feet, with his arm, you name it, he was playing his tail off. Hell of a game, Jalen.”

Kelce wasn’t the only one to praise Hurts. Mahomes did the same after the game ended, saying that Hurts proved himself.
