CM Punk Gets Training Offer From Former UFC Champ And Holy Crap You’ll Never Guess Who

CM Punk has been quiet of late. He’s busy. He’s training for his UFC debut. The former WWE Champ did take a minute to do an interview with a Wisconsin news station to drop this pipe bomb.

Brock Lesnar offered to train Punk for his eventual UFC debut.

“I’ve talked to [Brock Lesnar] and he’s offered all his help, even if it’s just bug him with a stupid question. It’s cool to know he supports me. He’s a good guy to know, I think… I think MMA is pro wrestling. If you go back to the early 1900’s and the whole genesis of professional wrestling, and then you go back to the early beginnings of MMA, it was all pro wrestlers… The characters, the action, the media, the mouths. There’s a reason people are interested in this, whether it’s good or it’s bad, whether they love me or they hate me.

Now, would Brock be a good trainer? Not sure, but, he’s make an insane training partner. Sure, he outweighs Punk by over 50 pounds, but it never hurts to have a former UFC champ giving some pointers.

Punk did drop some bad news in the interview. While no timetable has been set for Punks MMA debut, he did hint that it might not be until sometime next year.

I’m not sure [when I’ll make my UFC debut]. My attitude is I’d fight tomorrow, but I’d pretty much know the outcome. I’m on an accelerated path. This is college and I’m cramming four years of college into one year.

Understood. If Punk really isn’t ready to step into the octagon for his first fight, there will be a whole different type of cramming involved. Like his the cramming of his head up his ass at the hands of a trained fighter.
