Coastal Carolina head football coach Tim Beck went shirtless at the beach earlier this week and decided to take a few photos with the school mascot and members of the Chanticleers dance team. All of the girls were in matching teal bikinis. Beck was wearing a ‘Ball At The Beach’ chain, which is a reference to the program’s recruiting slogan.

The photo was posted to social media ahead of the Early Signing Period on Tuesday night.

As could be expected, it went extremely viral on both Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter.

Players were quick to throw their support behind the posts. Offensive lineman Will McDonald replied in approval. Backup quarterback Jarrett Guest, who entered the transfer portal last month, said that Beck was “(a) ladies man.”

The dance team also replied to the post on Instagram and wrote, “glad we ran into you at the beach today. Thanks for the picture!”

However, after about three hours, both posts were deleted. Coastal Carolina decided to pull the photo after mixed reactions from college football fans. Some found it to be unprofessional and inappropriate.

There was no intent to try to generate any particular kind of response one way or the other of how that was. So, I mean, that’s kind of my statement really on it.

It was a very spontaneous event. We’re staying at the Waikiki Sheraton on the beach, so out team, travel party, band, everybody involved, we’re on the beach a lot. And w’re documenting the trip. We have creative media people that work directly with football that take videos and

Coastal has not stated a reason for its decision to pull the posts. However, it is pretty obvious.

The picture went super viral online and brought out the weirdos. Weirdos ruin everything.

After the post was bookmarked 54 times in less than three hours on X, and far more on Instagram, the team decided it was better to take it down.
