Colin Cowherd Is Leaving ESPN

Colin Cowherd, one of the highest-profile people at ESPN, is leaving the company. His departure was first reported by The Big Lead and confirmed by the World Wide Leader in a statement.

“We’ve enjoyed a mutually beneficial run with Colin for over a decade. He came to national prominence on ESPN with his unique perspective on sports and society. Endings also bring new beginnings, for ESPN and Colin, and we thank him and wish him the best.”

Perhaps the Jim Harbaugh interview broke him. If so, it’s very understandable.

The loss of Cowherd comes shortly after Scott Van Pelt left his popular afternoon radio show for the midnight SportsCenter hosting gig. It also comes on the heels of Keith Olbermann and Bill Simmons slipping out the exit door.

In short, it seems like the network is hemorrhaging big-name talent.

Before you worry about where you’re going to get your BIG OPINIONS, know that both Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith are still gainfully employed up in Bristol.
