Colin Cowherd Mocked For Saying Bears Are Out On Caleb Williams Sweepstakes When They Actually Hold The Panthers 1st Round Pick

During The Herd, Colin Cowherd said that the Bears are now out of the Caleb Williams and Drake Maye sweepstakes because they’re now “too good” with 3 wins.

Of course, Colin clearly doesn’t know that the Bears hold the Panthers first round pick and by beating them last night 16-13, they’ve actually currently hold the 1st overall pick.

On the show, Cowherd confidently stated that the Bears are no longer contenders for the top pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Ironically, his own show displayed a graphic that showed that the Bears currently do hold the 1st pick, through the Panthers-Bryce Young trade.

The Panthers, now 1-8, were supposed to land their quarterback of the future but Young has been struggling while surrounded by a poor roster and bad coaching decisions.

Recapping the Bryce Young Trade, the Panthers got:

  • QB Bryce Young (1st overall)

Bears got:

  • WR DJ Moore
  • 2023 9th overall pick (Turned into OT Darnell Wright)
  • CB Tyrique Stevenson
  • 2024 1st Round Pick
  • 2024 4th Round Pick
  • 2025 2nd Round Pick
Social media quickly mocked Colin Cowherd for that segment. It wasn’t the first time he made a big mistake on the air and it won’t be his last.
