The 2027 NFL Draft quarterback class was hyped up as one of the best in several years. It could include superstars such as Texas’ Arch Manning, Oregon’s Dante Moore, and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin, in addition to others such as Miami’s Darian Mensah and Ole Miss star Trinidad Chambliss.
The key word there, however, is “was.” Through the opening weeks of the college football season, the majority of those quarterbacks, including the biggest names, have failed to live up to the hype.
That continued on Saturday when Manning went just 14-of-20 for 173 yards, one touchdown, and one fumble lost in a 27-24 loss to Florida. Sayin, meanwhile, completed just 15-of-29 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions as the Buckeyes held on for a narrow 19-15 win over Indiana.
Moore remains on the sidelines after suffering a concussion against USC, and Indiana starter Josh Hoover completed just 20 of his 40 passes against Ohio State.
Suddenly, a once highly touted quarterback class is being widely panned across social media.
2027 NFL Draft QB Class Is Under The Microscope
Not everyone has struggled. Chambliss shined in a big victory over LSU early in the season, but also struggled the following week at Florida, and will be 25 years old by the time the next NFL season begins.
Mensah, meanwhile, has dominated at Miami, but hasn’t faced any competition that has really challenged him to this point.
So, what do people think of the 2027 NFL Draft QB class now that we’ve watched them all play this season? It’s not pretty.
That generational 2027 QB class is looking very ungenerational at the moment.

This QB class is going to be one of the worst in recent history. Josh Hoover, Julian Sayin, Arch Manning, Gunnar Stockton….Lololol! Going to get a lot of people fired in the coming years!!

Perhaps Manning, Moore, Sayin, or others will be perfectly solid or even above-average NFL quarterbacks. But at the moment, the much-hyped class is failing to live up to expectatiosn by a large margin.
