Collin Morikawa Says Tiger Woods Should Use A Golf Cart To Extend His Career

Some people may not like to hear to this, but Tiger Woods is cooked.

If Woods ever wins a major, or even just a PGA Tour event again, it would be a massive shock.

But no. 8-ranked golfer in the world, Collin Morikawa, believes that he has the answer to Woods making a comeback.

See, for one round of golf Woods can still be as good as just about anyone on the planet at his best. However, the problem is not golf. The problem is walking. Woods underwent ankle surgery in 2023 due to injuries sustained his infamous 2021 car crash. Because of that, he can barely make it through a full round, less yet a full tournament, without his ankle locking up.

So, what can he do about it?

Dan Rapaport of Barstool Sports asked Morikawa if he believed Woods should file for an injury exemption in order to use a golf cart in tournaments.

Here’s what Morikawa had to say:

“I mean, yeah. But I mean, his ego’s pretty big. As is all of ours. I just think he wants to keep doing it until he can’t and maybe there’s something about a golf cart that’s just, y’know, ain’t it. I’d be taking a golf cart if they allowed me.”

Morikawa makes a good point. Woods likely won’t take a golf cart because he sees it as diminishing the feat of winning a golf tournament.

And, frankly, it’s hard to disagree with him. Sure, it may seem like something small. But if everyone else has to walk the course all week, so should Woods.

Honestly, injury exemptions to take golf carts shouldn’t even exist. Walking the course is inherently part of the golf tournament.

We wouldn’t lower NBA rims because someone couldn’t jump after an injury, right?

Woods is too prideful to win that way. And it’s part of what makes Tiger Woods, Tiger Woods.
