The Colorado Buffaloes and Nebraska Cornhuskers face off Saturday in a heated rivalry game. The ‘Huskers made things “personal” last season ahead of a 36-14 loss.

Shedeur Sanders took offense to some things said about his father prior to the matchup. That led to a disrespectful meeting at midfield where the QB savagely flashed his luxury watch in the faces of opponents.

When all was said and done, that bulletin board material gave the Buffs added incentive to take down their rivals. Colorado seems to be looking for similar motivation this time around!

Star wide receiver Jimmy Horn spoke to the media on Thursday after practice. He says he’s been watching Nebraska player interviews in preparation for the contest.

“I’ve watched a couple of their interviews so I’m on that timing. My receiver group, we on that timing. We know what time it is.”

Horn is likely referencing a few quotes from Cornhusker linebacker Mikai Gbayor that went viral this week. One seemed a jab at the Buffs’ starting quarterback, which could understandably peeve any pass catcher.

Another noted Gbayor’s intention to pummel Colorado ball carriers as he dared the Buffs to double team him – or else!

Gbayor expects the Cornhuskers to flex their muscles on defense, where they could have an edge over Colorado’s offensive line.

Jimmy Horn heard what’s been said, and he’ll look to make the linebacker look silly on Saturday.

The leadup to Year 2 between Matt Rhule and Deion Sanders has been a bit less eventful than last September. Each side has been rather complimentary this week with the game quickly approaching.

That being said, there has been a little trash talk. It wouldn’t be a rivalry without it!

We’ll see which side leaves Lincoln with a win this weekend and which side ends up eating their words.
