The Indianapolis Colts have bolstered their running back roster by signing veteran RB Kenyan Drake, as confirmed by his agency today.

This move comes as the Colts navigate a contract situation with their star running back, Jonathan Taylor, and cope with the recent loss of Zack Moss due to an arm injury.

Kenyan Drake was part of a group of experienced running backs who underwent trials with the Colts earlier this week. The group included Benny Snell and Devine Ozigbo, both vying for a place in the team’s lineup.

During the 2022 season, Drake showcased his skills while playing for the Ravens.

He made appearances in 12 games, accumulating 482 rushing yards on 109 carries, averaging an impressive 4.4 yards per carry. Drake also reached the end zone four times on the ground and once through the air.

Drake’s overall career stats reflect his impact on the field, having gained a total of 3,866 rushing yards and caught 216 passes for 1,624 yards. His versatility is further highlighted by his 41 career touchdowns.

The Colts’ decision to sign Drake adds depth to their running back options, providing support as they address the uncertain situation surrounding Jonathan Taylor’s contract negotiation and work through Zack Moss’s temporary absence due to injury.
