Original Story:
The Washington Commanders have received a trade offer for defensive end Montez Sweat, but surprisingly, none for star pass-rusher Chase Young, according to Washington Post’s Nicki Jhabvala.
A previous report by Dianna Russini of The Athletic said that the Commanders have made calls to NFL teams trying to get a sense of the interest in their star pass-rushers.
One team has made a trade offer to the Commanders for DE Montez Sweat but none so far have offered for DE Chase Young, per source. Unclear of the terms of the offer for Sweat.

Young and Sweat have combined for 10.5 sacks this season. Sweat recorded 5.5 sacks, while Young added 5.
Both players are former first-round picks, with Young being the second overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Despite an impressive rookie season, Young has faced setbacks due to injuries since then, and the team even opted not to exercise his 5th-year option, making him a free agent in 2024.
On the other hand, Montez Sweat, the 26th overall pick in the 2019 draft, has shown consistency, accumulating a total of 34.5 sacks in his career. However, he has yet to achieve a double-digit sack season, which might make some teams lean towards Young’s untapped potential.
The big question remains: will Montez Sweat actually be traded? Only time will tell.
