The NHL season is nearing an end as the playoffs are right around the corner.

With that said the Edmonton Oilers are making a strong push for a spot in the postseason thanks to Connor McDavid’s efforts.

In fact, the superstar center scored an amazing game-winning goal on Wednesday night in overtime against the Arizona Coyotes.

Not only did it secure a win for the Oilers, but Connor McDavid also etched his name in the history books.

According to The Athletic, the game-winning goal was McDavid’s 60th score on the season. Only three other active players in the league have hit that 60-goal mark in a single season.

On top of that, Connor McDavid joins Austin Matthews in the 60-goal club just a year after Matthews did it. This is the first time in nearly 30 years the NHL has had back-to-back 60-goal scorers.

McDavid has been at the top of the NHL pretty much since his first year in the league. Especially now after securing 60 goals in a single season.

We’ll see how many more he can score, as the Oilers have 10 games left in the season.

Congratulations to Connor McDavid, as this is an accomplishment that should go down as one of the biggest moments of his career.
