Welp, it was only a matter of time before Michigan Wolverines staff member Connor Stalions and the alleged sign-stealing scandal rocking college football was turned into a meme, wasn’t it?

Stalions reportedly purchased game tickets on at least 30 occasions at 11 Big Ten schools over the past three years.

An opposing Big Ten school looked up in-stadium surveillance video from a game earlier this year, and sources said the person in the seat of the ticket purchased by Stalions held his smartphone up and appeared to film the home team’s sideline the entire game.

Sources confirmed to ESPN that Stalions purchased tickets on both sides of the stadium — across from each bench — for Ohio State‘s game with Penn State on Saturday. Michigan plays both teams in upcoming weeks. According to sources, the tickets purchased by Stalions were not used Saturday.

One internet sleuth even went as far as to analyze Connor Stalions’ Venmo history. What it showed was a suspicious amount of people paying him back for “t-shirt orders.”

The tipping point appears to be Tuesday’s report about Stalions possibly sneaking on to the Central Michigan Chippewas’ sideline during their game against Michigan State earlier this season.

A photo of a man looking suspiciously like Connor Stalions began making the rounds on social media Monday. The man, captured on video during a FS1 broadcast, is dressed up like a Central Michigan staff member.

“We became aware of these photos late yesterday and we are in the process of determining the facts surrounding them,” Central Michigan Athletic Director Amy Folan told BroBible in statement. “As this process is ongoing, we have no further comment at this time.”

Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain told The Athletic, “We obviously are aware of a picture floating around with the sign-stealer guy. Our people are doing everything they can to get to the bottom of it. We’re totally unaware of it. I certainly don’t condone it in any way, shape or form. I do know his name was on none of the passes that were let out. We keep tracing it back and tracing it back and try to figure it out. It’s in good hands with our people. Again, there’s no place in football for that.”

Regardless of the truth, the fact that this scandal has resulted in some hilarious memes certainly makes it all worth it, right?

Right.
