Conor McGregor will not stop fighting if he becomes President of Ireland. Last week, McGregor visited President Trump at the White House and bashed Ireland’s government.
“Our government abandoned the voices of the people of Ireland. Our money is being spent overseas on issues that have nothing to do with the Irish people. It’s time the people in America are made aware of what’s going on Ireland, what is going on Ireland is a travesty. Our government is a government with zero action and zero accountability.”
After receiving backlash from Irish politicians, the UFC star announced he was running for President of Ireland.
Ireland, the choice is yours and it is an easy one. Vote for me as your President and we will SAVE IRELAND TOGETHER! 🇮🇪❤️🙏 https://t.co/tLGdPITwnr

On Thursday night, McGregor held a press conference following BKFC 70, and admitted that he’s comeback might be delayed due to his interest in Irish politics.
“Like I’ve said, I’ve got two fights on the contract, I’m in negotiations, last week something happened to me, I went to the White House, and my country is in my heart. My heart bleeds for my country right now, so there’s a lot of stuff going on back home. I’m happy with what I’ve done, there’s something else for me that’s in my gut right now, and that’s kind of where I’m going.”
