Jim Ross Says It’s Only A Matter Of Time Until Conor McGregor Joins The WWE

When Conor McGregor stepped out of the ring against Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the end of August, a lot of people were already wondering what his next move was going to be (aside from getting hammered at a club in Vegas). Some wondered if he’d return to the UFC, while others were curious to see if he’d continue to pursue a boxing career.

However, if wrestling legend Jim Ross is to be believed, McGregor will at least make a pit stop in the WWE at some point in the near future. The announcer appeared on FS1 opposite Colin Cowherd on Thursday, and while he thinks McGregor will eventually return to the octagon, he’s confident he’ll appear in the squared circle at some point.

This would come as an interesting twist when you consider McGregor’s rocky relationship with professional wrestling. He’s previously referred to WWE stars as “pussies,” called John Cena a “big, fat, 40-year-old failed Mr. Olympia motherfucker,” and shown a general disdain for wrestling fans. However, people in his circle have said he’s more than willing to be a hypocrite if the price is right.

Ross hinted the matchup could come at Wrestlemania, which is scheduled for April 8, 2018. It’s worth noting Ross also predicted Ronda Rousey would become a WWE superstar— a prediction that has yet to pan out (and, based on early indicators, might not). I guess we’ll have to wait and see if either prophecy will come true.
