Jul 11, 2026; Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; Conor McGregor (red gloves) is introduced before a welterweight bout against Max Holloway (not pictured) during UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena.
There may be just one fight remaining on Conor McGregor‘s UFC contract, but that doesn’t mean that McGregor plans to be done with fighting after his contract is up.
On the contrary, McGregor plans on continuing to fight well beyond his UFC deal expiring. And he plans to do so in a much more violent fashion, by competing in BKFC.
McGregor is currently recovering from surgery after blowing out his knee in his UFC comeback fight against Max Holloway. But he’s already looking toward his fighting future.

Conor McGregor Says BKFC Is Next Up After Final UFC Fight
“Bare knuckle; I really enjoy bare knuckle fighting,” McGregor said recently when speaking with Spitfire Gym Berlin. “I don’t think there’s any chance of a boring fight in bare knuckle. Now, I am a mixed martial artist; maybe I’m just saying this because I had a bad time out the last time?
“Good MMA, really good MMA is hard to beat. But bare knuckle is very exciting, very dangerous, and it takes more courage for me, I think, to get in. So, I’m looking forward to a bare knuckle fight, myself.
“Big chance! Big chance! I’m gonna lay off my gloves in that octagon for my final UFC contract, but not to retire; to announce bare-knuckle!”
If there’s one thing you can say about McGregor, it’s that he’s the ultimate entertainer when he fights. And while some may consider bare-knuckle fighting to be too gruesome, it certainly doesn’t lack for entertainment value.
McGregor would be a wonderful fit for the promotion and, perhaps most importantly, its biggest name by far as it looks to grow in prominence.
