Conor McGregor Seemingly Responds To Artem Lobov Lawsuit As Only He Can

Conor McGregor has taken to Twitter to seemingly respond to a recent lawsuit from Russian MMA fighter Artem Lobov. After McGregor called Lobov a rat in a voice note that he posted to Twitter last month, the UFC star has again seemingly taken a shot at Lobov.

According to Lobov’s lawsuit, McGregor is accused of a “concerted social media barrage” with the intent of “harassing, intimidating and defaming him.” Furthermore, Lobov claims that he is entitled to 5% of the $600 million McGregor made from selling a majority stake of Proper No. Twelve whisky back in 2021, accrording to The Independent.

A former close friend of Conor McGregor is suing him for millions of euro, claiming he came up with the idea for the mixed martial arts star’s hugely successful Irish whiskey brand.

Retired Russian-born fighter Artem Lobov (36), a long-time training partner of McGregor (34), alleges he was instrumental in developing the brand that became Proper No. Twelve but ended up squeezed out as the spirit took off. [via The Independent]

The lawsuit from Lobov is just one of a few reasons that McGregor is in the headlines this week, as the former featherweight and lightweight champion has fallen out of the UFC rankings for the first time since 2013.

Below you can read a statement from Lobov’s lawyer Dermot McNamara:

“My client is a retired professional fighter with a master’s degree from DCU in Finance and Capital Markets,” Lobov’s attorney. We have issued High Court proceedings on his behalf to enforce an agreement with Mr. McGregor regarding the Proper No. 12 whiskey brand. My client was the initial creator and co-founder of the concept to launch an Irish whiskey brand associated with Mr. McGregor. As these matters are now before the court, we will not be making any further comment.”

In response, McGregor’s lawyers have denied Lobov’s allegations, saying that Proper No. 12 Whiskey was “McGregor’s attorneys denied Lobov’s allegations, saying the brand was “created, developed, branded and tirelessly promoted” by the 34-year-old Irishman.
