After this year’s NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles’ strategy for how to build their roster got a lot of attention.

With the decisions to draft Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith and trade for D’Andre Swift, the Eagles’ roster suddenly consisted of a whole bunch of players from Georgia, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

While their affinity for acquiring Bulldogs has gotten a lot of attention, they aren’t the NFL’s only team that has brought in a lot of players from Georgia recently.

The Los Angeles Rams have also been quite fond of Bulldogs, especially on offense.

The organization spent 1st rounders on Alec Ogletree and Todd Gurley back in 2013 and 2015 respectively.

They later traded for Sony Michel after injury issues brought Gurley’s time with the organization to an end.

That offseason they also made a much more notable trade for another former Bulldog. They trade Jared Goff and a haul of draft picks for Matthew Stafford.

Back in April, they decided to have another Georgia QB join Stafford on the depth chart. They selected Stetson Bennett in round 4 of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Today, star Rams receiver Cooper Kupp used that fact to take a shot at his team’s starting quarterback.

According to NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano, Kupp called Bennett the most athletic QB from Georgia on the team.

Stafford has never been particularly reliant on athleticism throughout his NFL career and that has become especially true over the past couple of seasons as he’s seen his yards per attempt on runs drop below 1.5.

Luckily, you don’t have to move too much when all you need to do is find Cooper Kupp on your drop backs.

Maybe next season we’ll see him take off a few more times just to prove a point.
