Cowboys fans woke up this morning possibly thinking of a long touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to Ceedee Lamb or new targer Brandin Cooks, or a long run by Tony Pollard. But, I’m not sure any of them thought their first touchdown would come off of a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown.

The play came after the first drive of the game, as the Giants went right down the field on Dallas in the year’s first edition of Sunday Night Football. But, a bad shotgun snap on 3rd down stalled the drive, setting up this play.

The kick was blocked by Juanyeh Thomas and scooped up and returned by Noah Igbinoghene. They recently acquired Igbinoghene in a trade for Kelvin Joseph at the end of August. He was a former first-rounder of the Dolphins.

It’s early, but it’s only gotten better for Dallas, as Micah Parsons already has two sacks, as well.

The only thing that’s gone wrong fo the Cowboys so far is that kicker Brandon Aubrey missed the extra point. He did add a field goal, and the Cowboys led 9-0 here early.

Trevon Diggs got in the action, too, with a defensive touchdown of his own.

It’s already 16-0, and it’s still the first quarter.
