The Dallas Cowboys have made a smart move in securing the future of their talented wide receiver CeeDee Lamb by exercising his fifth-year team option for the 2024 season.
According to a report from the Dallas Morning News’ Calvin Watkins, Lamb will be earning a fully guaranteed $17.9 million in that year.

This decision was a no-brainer for the Cowboys, given the 24-year-old’s immense potential and impressive performance on the field so far.
Lamb had a breakout year in 2022, becoming one of the league’s top receivers with a career-high 107 catches for 1,359 yards and 9 touchdowns. He was also named second-team All-Pro and to his second Pro-Bowl appearance.
Even with the possibility of the Cowboys becoming more run-heavy, Lamb is expected to continue to put up impressive numbers this upcoming season. He has already shown he is one of the most talented wide receivers in the league, and his numbers are expected to rise as he continues to develop his game.
Since being picked 17th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, Lamb has recorded 3,396 yards receiving and 20 touchdowns. His combination of speed, agility, and catching ability makes him a potent weapon in the Cowboys’ offense and one that can be relied on to make big plays.
Lamb’s option getting picked up solidifies his position as one of the most valuable assets in the Cowboys’ roster, and it also ensures he will remain with the team for at least the next two seasons.
