In a move to bolster their defensive line, the Dallas Cowboys announced on Wednesday that they have signed former Indianapolis Colts’ second-round pick, Ben Banogu.

Ben Banogu, a talented pass-rusher in college, showcased his skills during his career at Louisiana-Monroe and TCU before joining the NFL. Over the course of three seasons, he accumulated an impressive stat line, recording 156 tackles, 45 tackles for loss, and 20 sacks.

His college performance caught the attention of NFL scouts, leading to his selection by the Indianapolis Colts at pick 49 overall of the 2019 NFL Draft.

During his time with the Colts, Banogu appeared in 50 games but never managed to secure a starting role and generally struggled to produce, playing in only 554 defensive snaps. Throughout his tenure, Banogu failed to show an ability to disrupt opposing quarterbacks constantly, recording a total of 2.5 sacks and 6 quarterback hits.

Now joining the Dallas Cowboys, Banogu will have the opportunity to contribute to the team’s defensive efforts. The Cowboys’ coaching staff likely recognizes his athletic potential and believes that he can make a positive impact on the field.

Cowboys Nation hopes that Banogu can tap into his potential and become a key contributor to their defensive success in the upcoming season.
