Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Antonio Callaway was arrested in Miami on Saturday for driving with a suspended license and failing to pay fines, according to Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640.

This arrest marks another setback in the troubled career of the talented yet controversial player.

According to Slater, Callaway had a warrant related to driving offenses when he was taken into custody. While the specifics of his suspended license and unpaid fines were not immediately available, it appears that Callaway had been operating a vehicle despite his license being suspended.

Antonio Callaway joined the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad on November 15 of last year but did not have the opportunity to play in any regular-season games. Despite his limited time with the team, the Cowboys recognized his potential and signed him to a futures contract in January, indicating their intention to develop him further.

However, Callaway’s on-field contributions have been marred by a series of off-field issues. The 26-year-old wide receiver has not played a regular-season game since 2020 when he appeared in five games for the Miami Dolphins.

During that season, Callaway faced a lengthy suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

With the Dolphins, Callaway managed to catch two passes for a total of 20 yards before the team decided to part ways with him. This followed a pattern of recurring off-field troubles that had plagued his tenure in the league.

Callaway was initially drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, but his time in Cleveland was also marred by disciplinary issues.

Throughout his career, spanning 25 games, including 14 starts, Callaway has recorded 53 receptions for 695 yards and five touchdowns. While his on-field talent has been evident, his inability to stay out of trouble has hindered his progress and prevented him from reaching his full potential.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the future of Antonio Callaway’s NFL career hangs in the balance.
