The New England Patriots had a magnificent run when Tom Brady and Bill Belichick worked together. However, nobody can agree on who is the reason for the team’s wild success.

Well, an insane stat might just settle the debate once and for all.

Ross Tucker shows a stat displaying playoff births and victories for both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. It displays what each of them has been able to achieve in their careers when apart. Belichick has 10 seasons under his belt without the future Hall of Fame quarterback, while Brady has just three. Even so, you might be shocked by what this stat has to say.

It’s a bit crazy to see that Tom Brady has more playoff success than Bill Belichick in just three seasons. Looking at Belichick’s career without the superstar quarterback is a bit lackluster. Five games to one is a bit one-sided.

Albeit, Brady did get to cherry-pick a loaded Tampa Bay Buccaneers roster that was a quarterback away from becoming a contender. Meanwhile, Belichick had some rough years at the beginning of his career and is trying to rebuild the Patriots after Tom’s departure.

Regardless, it appears Tom Brady is the reason for New England’s success based on this stat alone. Maybe Bill Belichick can turn things around next year, but the Patriots are going to need a strong offseason to right the ship.

In the end, these two dominated the league together and will go down in history as one of, if not, the best coach-quarterback duos in NFL history.
