Creed was on hand to watch the Rangers play the Astros in Game 3 of the ALCS. Unfortunately, the band couldn’t take Texas “Higher,” and the internet had all kinds of jokes.

With Max Scherzer on the mound, the club looked to take a 3-0 lead over AL West division rival Houston. The Astros had different plans as they tagged the starting pitcher early and often.

The ‘Stros jumped out to a 5-0 lead through the first four frames to blow the game open. They’d go on to win, 8-5, securing their first win in the series.

The Rangers have been blasting Creed throughout the locker room speakers this season, which they said attributed to their second-half turnaround. After dominating the American League prior to the All-Star break, Texas hit a midseason slump and lost possession of the division lead.

They’d slip into the playoffs with a strong finish, winding up in a wildcard matchup with the 99-win Rays. Tampa proved no match as Texas landed the 2-0 sweep, outscoring their opponent 11-1.

The trend continued in the ALDS with a sweep of the first-place Orioles to advance one step closer to a World Series appearance.

After winning their first two games against Houston in the ALCS, they headed back to Arlington still undefeated in postseason play with a chance at closing out the series at home.

As excitement grew around the playoff run, so, too, did the star power in attendance.

After hearing reports of the Rangers’ preferred music choice, Creed showed up to take in Game 3 of the series. Their presence wouldn’t help as Texas dropped its first game in October.

After seeing the band on hand to take in the lone Rangers loss, the internet erupted with jokes.

“Right now, Scherzer has created his own prison.”

“Maybe 5-0 ain’t so far down.”

“You just can’t lose the Creed game.”

“No wonder Rangers are getting crushed.”

Others commented on the band’s message to the team and its fans.

“Ah yes, they are here for the American League Championship Series Championship.”

“Go MLB, baby!”

Texas will try to get back on track Thursday night in Game 4.
