While this NFL offseason hasn’t been great for veteran running backs, there has still been plenty of interest in what the future will hold for Dalvin Cook.

For months now, there have been rumors about the Minnesota Vikings potentially moving on from their star running back.

There was talk of them potentially trading him ahead of the draft and recently there have even been reports that they’ll just release him.

A recent report revealed that the Vikings were very close to a deal that would have sent Cook to Miami.

Despite all of the rumors, Cook remains a Viking.

However, there are already teams showing interest in the veteran RB if the Vikings actually do release him.

The Dolphins have been seen as the favorite to pick Cook up if he becomes available, but now it looks like they could face competition from a couple of other teams who are expected to make playoff runs in 2023.

On today’s episode of The Mackey & Judd Show, Darren Wolfson revealed that the New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys have both shown interest in Cook.

Bringing in Cook would be a pretty surprising move for either of these franchises.

The Dallas Cowboys are going to be heavily invested in Tony Pollard for this season after using the franchise tag on him, which makes it difficult to see how they could make a move for Cook make financial sense.

The New York Jets’ star running back, Breece Hall, is returning from a torn ACL that prematurely ended his season in 2022, but he is currently expected to be ready for Week 1 and was on his way to a monster rookie season before the injury.

The Jets also still need to rework Aaron Rodgers’ contract, which will have a big impact on their cap situation.

The Miami Dolphins certainly won’t be the only team to make a strong offer for Cook if he becomes a free agent, but it would pretty surprising to see either of these teams in the mix.
