Dallas Stars Players’ Epic Valentine’s Day Prank On Mothers To Do The Unthinkable

Winter is full of landmines for guys that have been dating the same girl for a long time. You’ve got Thanksgiving when all of your family gathers and are possibly anticipating a huge engagement announcement in front of everybody at the dinner table with clinking wine glasses and speeches. Then you’ve got Christmas and Hanukkah when women might be expecting a shiny ring as a holiday gift. Finally you have Valentine’s Day, the most romantic day of the year, and she doesn’t want flowers and chocolates. She wants flowers, chocolates and for you to get down on one knee to pop the big question. And what about if your girl has a birthday in the winter months? Brutal.

Dallas Stars forwards Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin feel the pressure to get married and they aren’t even in a relationship. The lack of girlfriends did not stop them from planning the most romantic Valentine’s Day marriage proposal with puppies and everything.

The two bachelors called their dear mothers and told them that they had met “the one” and were getting engaged this weekend for a fun Valentine’s Day prank. To make it even more uncomfortable they ask their mommies if they can use their grandmother’s wedding ring.

In disbelief one concerned mother asks, “Is this April 1st?” Once the ruse is exposed the mothers get angry, call their sons assholes and even threaten spankings. Sounds like someone’s mom has Fifty Shades of Grey on the mind. Seguin turns the blame on his mom and scolds her that she should never let him get married at 23-years-old. Good family fun.
