The 2025 WNBA season has not gone according to plan for the Dallas Wings. After going just 9-31 a year ago, the second-worst record in the league, Dallas is just 8-23 thus far this season, yet again the second-worst in the league.

Rookie superstar Paige Bueckers has shone at times. But first-year head coach Chris Koclanes has struggled mightily, and many fans believe he’s the number one issue holding the team back.

That’s led to a hostile environment for Koclanes, even among home fans. But veteran star Myisha Hines-Allen, a former WNBA champion and second-team All-WNBA selection, isn’t a fan of the backlash Koclanes has received.

Myisha Hines-Allen Tells Dallas Wings Fan To Stop Heckling Coach Chris Koclanes

Following an 88-77 loss to the New York Liberty on Friday night, a group of Wings fans sat behind the home bench chanted “We want Nola” in support of assistant coach Nola Henry taking the head coaching job.

That seemed to run Hines-Allen the wrong way, and she quickly approached the fans and let them know how she felt.

“We want y’all to do well,” the fan told Hines-Allen.

“I understand. But we want to do well, too,” she replied. “But we can hear outside noise. We know we didn’t start the season off well, we’re not playing how we should be playing. But we need the fans to support us.”

When the fan contended that they were supporting the players, Hines-Allen noted that “You’re not supporting us, though, because at the end of the day, Chris is still our head coach, we still need him.”

Honestly, it’s hard to argue with anything Hines-Allen said. Koclanes has struggled at times. But he’s part of the team. And all the outside noise only makes things harder on the players.

Hines-Allen’s attitude and mindset are the exact things that you need to turn around a struggling organization, and the Dallas Wings are certainly a struggling organization.
