The Minnesota Vikings may have to make a drastic decision regarding Dalvin Cook.
Due to the latest development, it sounds like there are already some talks about Dalvin Cook’s future in Minnesota.
According to Kevin Brown, Cook and the Vikings could be heading toward a split if the star running back refuses to take a pay cut.
#Vikings RB Dalvin Cook, scheduled to make $14.1M in 2023, says he is not interested in taking a pay cut and would prefer to be traded. With the mix of veterans and rookies this year a trade is unlikely. He will likely settle for less elsewhere.

To be fair, why would anyone take a pay cut? That’s crazy talk no matter what your job is.
Even so, sports franchises ask players to take less money all the time. Now, it appears Dalvin Cook finds himself in that exact situation.
It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out. Between the NFL Draft and the free agent market, there are a ton of running backs available.
For that reason, Dalvin Cook and the Vikings very well could be on their way to a divorce.
If that happens, then Cook would hit free agency and likely have to sign a cheaper deal than what he wants to keep playing in the league.
Look for talks between Dalvin Cook and the Vikings to ramp up before the front office makes a final decision.
With rumors of the team moving on from Alexander Mattison as well, there could be a brand new backfield in Minnesota next season.
