Islam Makhachev took home the win at UFC 284 after what some believe was a controversial ending.

Regardless, he leaves Australia with another win under his belt and the lightweight title strapped around his waist.

However, things took a turn on Sunday night after UFC star Dan Hooker went on a wild Twitter rant claiming Islam Makhachev cheated at the weigh-ins.

Before diving into Hooker’s tweets, it’s important to note that these are all accusations. There is no proof of Makhachev cheating, as the UFC would have to conduct an investigation to find more information.

With that in mind, the Australian fighter seems convinced Islam Makhachev hired a nurse to give him an IV immediately after the weigh-ins.

For anyone not aware, the UFC banned the use of IVs back in 2015, “because the IVs can contribute to unhealthy amounts of weight-cutting and can be a conduit for performance-enhancing substances,” per Bleacher Report.

It’s unclear whether or not Islam Makhachev actually used an IV after his weigh-in, but this is a rather serious accusation from Dan Hooker. Here he is displaying the penalty if a fighter did break these rules.

After that, Hooker blasted off three tweets in a row digging in on his accusations.

Still doesn’t provide any proof about Islam Makhachev though.

Dan Hooker is pretty upset.

Islam Makhachev has not responded to these accusations. Until proof is brought to the table, Dan Hooker’s comments hold no weight.
