Dan Hurley was very frustrated with his performance on College GameDay. The 51-year-old head coach at UConn unleashed a LOUD F-bomb while live on ESPN after missing multiple half-court shots.

Rece Davis had to apologize on behalf of his employer after the broadcast came back from commercial.

If you happened to catch Danny Hurley say a little something there going to break, we apologize for that.

He did so in hilarious fashion with a deep-cut movie reference and joked that, “in the immortal words of the narrator from A Christmas Story, ‘he didn’t say fudge.'” There is nobody better in the business!

The hot mic incident took place near the end of the broadcast after Hurley joined the desk to discuss UConn’s loss at Creighton and how the Huskies plan to bounce back during their home game against the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday night. Rip Hamilton joined the show earlier in the morning and drained a half-court shot so the Davis and company challenged Hurley to try and do the same.

It did not go well. Hurley missed every single one of his shots and proceeded to boot a basketball into the stands.

In response to his poor shooting, Hurley also screamed “F—!” He did so before ESPN was able to get to the break, while still wearing his microphone. It was clear as day.

There are very few coaches in college basketball who are as animated as Dan Hurley. He is not afraid to show his emotions and never minces his words. Even when he’s live on national television, clearly.

If there were betting odds for College GameDay, a bet on Hurley to swear during his appearance would have been -1100. It would have been -350 for him to say the F-word. Both were mortal locks.

Although Hurley did not hit a half-court shot, both Hamilton and a student did. The Huskies went 2-for-3 and will hope that is a better omen than their head coach’s miss!
