Jorge Masvidal is set to return to the cage at UFC 287 as he’s matched up against Gilbert Burns. It should be a great fight as there is plenty at stake.

At least that’s what Daniel Cormier thinks about Masvidal. It’s been a while since we’ve seen the fan favorite earn a win and now the UFC Hall of Famer weighs in.

According to MMA Junkie, Daniel Cormier believes this is a “must-win situation” for Masvidal. “Gamebred” has lost three straight fights and is facing a potential fourth consecutive loss if he can’t get it done against Burns. Considering his age, Cormier is right to make his claim.

With that in mind, this is probably a massive fight for Jorge Masvidal. If he wins, he’s right back on top of the welterweight division. However, a loss could spell trouble for Masvidal’s career. For that reason, Daniel Cormier is right to call this a “must-win situation.”

UFC 287 is set for April 8, 2023. Masvidal and Bruns are the co-main event in what should be a solid card. All eyes will be on him, as many fight fans want to see Jorge Masvidal succeed. Daniel Cormier is also right in that a fourth straight loss probably doesn’t hurt Masvidal’s stardom.

We’ll see how it plays out though. We are still several months away from UFC 287. Regardless, this seems to be a pivotal moment for Jorge Masvidal’s career.
