The New York Giants are a truly helpless football team. However, they might have found the solution against the Panthers— moving Daniel Jones to wide receiver.

Obviously, I’m not serious, but the third-year quarterback’s best play of the season did not come behind center. During Sunday’s game against Carolina, which nearly went into the fourth quarter with a score of 5-3, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett (that’s still so funny) dialed up some trickery.

On 1st-and-10 just inside the opposing 50-yard-line, Jones took the snap and handed the ball off to Devin Booker on the counter. Booker took the ball to the sideline and flipped it to wide receiver Dante Pettis.

Meanwhile, Jones slipped out down the near sideline. As Pettis ran back across the field, he delivered a dime to Danny Dimes, who used one hand to pull the ball into his body for a catch and a gain of 12.

Of course, any time that anyone catches the ball with one hand at MetLife Stadium, it’s impossible not to make reference to Odell Beckham Jr. and his insane catch back in 2015.

However, maybe the Giants should bring him back at quarterback and push Jones out wide?

Jones’ one-handed snag is the best catch that you’ll see this year, if not one of the better catches period. And two plays later, New York found the end zone.

How about that from the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder?!
