Daniel Jones’ Trip Vs. Eagles Wasn’t So Funny To The Sports Gambler Who Missed Out On Thousands Because Of It

Anyone who watched Thursday Night Football saw that hilarious Daniel Jones trip, which, unfortunately, has sort of become a metaphor describing the pathetic season of his New York Giants. Just when you think something good is going to happen with the G-Men, boom, something unexplained goes wrong — like how the team blew a 21-10 late in the 4th quarter to lose to the Eagles.

Although Jones’ fail is the lone “highlight” for the Giants from the contest — and still has people laughing about it, including the quarterback himself — there’s at least one person who doesn’t find the whole thing too humorous. That’d be an unlucky sports gambler, who missed out on winning over $14,000 because of that stealth Daniel Jones trip. Ouch.

According to B/R Betting’s Twitter, at least one person put $500 on a prop bet that was for Jones to score the third touchdown of the game. It would’ve happened, too, had, you know, the quarterback didn’t trip over his own feet.

As the Giants quarterback broke into the open field and had nothing but grass in front of him and the end zone, you can envision the excitement of this sports gambler — who was no doubt screaming at his TV and celebrating what felt like a sure victory. Then… it happened. Daniel Jones accelerated too fast for his own good, forcing him to the ground and costing this person stacks of cash.

Of course, the drive wasn’t over, though, and the Giants did end up scoring a touchdown — but it was Wayne Gallman who got the third score of the game, not Jones. I’m honestly speechless, and people on Twitter couldn’t help but show sympathy for the poor soul who had to live through this miserable experience.

There are a lot of reasons why sports gambling is unfair. But after seeing Daniel Jones trip and basically tackle himself on the way to the end zone, I’m not sure I can think of a worse example. Hopefully this gambler isn’t too down in the dumps after nearly hitting it big.
