Davante Adams let the Las Vegas Raiders know that he would prefer to be traded on Tuesday afternoon. The team publicly declared its asking price through Adam Schefter shortly thereafter.

They are searching for a package that includes a second round draftpick.

Adams, 31, was traded from the Packers to the Raiders in 2022. Green Bay received a first-round pick and a second-round pick in return for the three-time All-Pro pass-catcher. He then signed a $141.25 million contract with Las Vegas that made him the highest-paid receiver at the time.

Now, two 1,000-yard seasons later, Adams would like to be traded again.

The confusing situation completely unraveled over the last 24/48 hours after Antonio Pierce “liked” a message on social media that suggested Adams had played his last snap with the Raiders. Fans ran wild with all kinds of speculation as to what it could mean. Nobody, even the head coach himself, reached out to the star wide receiver to provide an explanation.

Adams had not heard from Pierce as of Tuesday morning and later issued a formal request for a trade. According to Schefter, Las Vegas is willing to listen to offers. The Raiders want a second-round pick to be the focus of a potential compensatory package and will not settle for anything less, or so they say.

It is currently unclear whether there is interest in this kind of deal. However, there are a lot of NFL teams in need of a wide receiver and Davante Adams is one of the best in the league at the moment.

Aaron Rodgers has wanted his former top target to join him in New York for awhile. This might be the first, only and last opportunity for that reunion to finally happen if the Jets decide to negotiate a trade. Other possible suitors are unknown at this time.
