DAZN Partners With Football Guys Johnny Manziel, Saquon Barkley And Cam Newton To Remind Viewers They Can Watch Ruiz-Joshua 2 And The SEC Championship At The Same Time On Saturday

There are two huge sporting events this Saturday afternoon that are taking place roughly at the same time, the SEC championship game between LSU and Georgia, and the upcoming Andy Ruiz-Anthony Joshua rematch in Abu Dhabi.

Instead of having viewers choose which event they’re going to watch this weekend, DAZN is running a unique campaign for Saturday that encourages sports fans to watch both the SEC championship and the Ruiz-Joshua rematch. The streaming service has partnered with former college football stars, Saquon Barkley, Johnny Manziel, and Cam Newton, who are all boxing fans and have been promoting the much anticipated heavyweight fight on their social feeds throughout the week.

Here’s Saquon Barkley on why he’s going to watch both Ruiz-Joshua 2 and the SEC Championship on Saturday.

“I watched the first fight and like the rest of the world I was shocked when Andy Ruiz won,” . “After I watched One Night I was even more amazed by how it all unfolded. I have no idea what will happen in the rematch but I will be glued to my screens with the fight on one TV and the SEC Championship on another.”

DAZN believes that using athletes and celebrities to promote events is a proven method to get their message out. The streaming service’s documentary series 40 DAYS attaches celebrity producers to each production and has recently teamed up with LeBron James and Mark Wahlberg to tell stories about boxers Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua.

The first heavyweight world title fight to take place in the Middle East will take place on Saturday (DAZN, noon ET, main event at approximately 3:45 p.m. ET).
