De’Aaron Fox’s Boneheaded Play May Have Cost The Spurs The NBA Championship Vs Knicks

Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox had one of the all-time worst blunders in NBA history.

On Wednesday night, the Spurs were trying to hold off the Knicks’ comeback after the Knicks were down 29 points late in the fourth quarter.

With 12 seconds left in the game and the Spurs up one point, Fox decided to try to lay the ball up instead of trying to run down the clock or force the Knicks to foul him. Unfortunately for Fox, the Knicks’ OG Anunoby blocked his layup attempt, and was able to score the game-winning bucket on the other end of the floor.

After the game, ESPN’s Charles Barkley ripped Fox to shreds over his dumb play.

“That was a dumb– play. He did not have to shoot that ball.”

Barkley went on to call the Spurs “the dumbest basketball team in the history of civilization.”
