The Colorado Buffaloes have been receiving more attention than usual this offseason all thanks to Deion Sanders.

It’s the first step the program is making to hopefully turn things around in college football.

However, Sanders’ tenure has been controversial to say the least. Especially considering the amount of players who have opted to transfer out of Colorado.

With that in mind, oddsmakers have set the Buffaloes at a over/under of 4.5 wins just three months away from the start of the regular season.

Despite that, Deion Sanders seems to believe Colorado can perform better after making his latest claim.

The college football head coach wouldn’t provide a prediction on how many wins his team will secure in the 2023 season. But he does seem to believe that Colorado can win more than four games.

According to Football Scoop, Sanders claims, “I don’t know. I can’t give you that. So, we’re going to exceed their expectations; we’re going to exceed their expectations.”

In addition to that, it sounds like Deion Sanders is coaching a physical team in Colorado. Maybe the Buffaloes won’t win that many games this upcoming season, but Sanders thinks opponents will “know you played against us.”

Here is the full quote, per Football Scoop. “And I guarantee you when you play against us, you’re going to know you played against us. You’re going to know that, you’re going to feel it. I cannot wait till you see.”

The most recent talk regarding Colorado though is the number of players who have recently left the program through the transfer portal.

Regardless, Sanders doesn’t care about that and thinks the focus should be on the players who are on the current roster.

“Everybody makes a big deal of what’s not here, but you need to start making a big deal of what’s coming. Because what’s coming is far greater than what’s gone.”

We’ll see how it all plays out in due time. Deion Sanders experienced wild success coaching for Jackson State. However, they weren’t in a Power 5 conference and faced lesser competition.
