Pro Football Hall of Famer and current Colorado Head Coach Deion Sanders loves to use social media to promote not only himself but also to promote his sons, Travis Hunter, and the Colorado football program.

But, on Thursday, Deion Sanders fell victim to unverified rumors that Utah veteran quarterback Cam Rising had a serious medical issue that would keep the oft-injured senior off the field for a long period of time.

Sanders probably should be focusing more on his Colorado Buffaloes after they were blown out by Nebraska in a nationally televised prime-time game on Saturday, 28-10. Apparently, he found some time to check out Twitter and see people tweeting about Utah seventh-year quarterback Cam Rising.

This post went absolutely viral in the last 24 hours, spreading like wildfire.

And, while Cam Rising does have an injury, it’s supposed to just keep him out this week, as it’s a relatively minor problem.

But, Deion Sanders clearly saw that first tweet, and seriously thought that Cam Rising had tetanus!

He took to Twitter to apologize for his mistake that I’m sure he’s pretty embarrassed about.

Oh, Deion.

Deion Sanders and Colorado are getting ready to take on in-state rival Colorado State in a very crucial road game to get back some momentum before the start of conference play. The Buffs fell apart last year after their first loss following a 3-0 start. They need to show some resilience on Saturday night on the road against a team that took them to overtime last year.

Deion Sanders and Colorado will take on Utah at home on November 16.
