Everybody’s who anybody seems to want to jump on the Deion Sanders and Colorado Buffaloes bandwagon.

The Buffs, despite their 3-2 record and recent losses to Oregon and USC, are still the hottest show in town.

Massive stars such as The Rock, DaBaby, Terrell Owens and Snoop Dogg have been around the program since Sanders took over in December of 2022.

The most recent pair to sit down and speak with Colorado players were Boston Celtics legends Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.

But Sanders says that there’s a method to the madness, and it’s about much more than just the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.

“What does it do when you’ve got guys like Paul Pierce and KG talking to every single guy? What do you hope that does,” CBS Sports Colorado’s Romi Bean asked Sanders in a recent interview.

“First of all, you want these young men that – most of them come from not great situation – you want them to see success and identify success,” Sanders answers. “You’ve got to understand, a lot of these young men have not men guys of this status and the standard. How many guys on the team do you think have met The Rock?  You know, seeing the Rock somewhere?

“You know, and seeing some of these guys that they’ve seen. They grew up on Master P. All our guys from the south did. So, to see some of these guys that have – and DaBaby, and Lil Weezy. I mean, it goes on and on and on. I know I’m forgetting some people, I’m sorry. And I apology to those people I’m forgetting – but it’s great for these young men to see success. Because it comes in many forms. You don’t just have to have a bat, ball and a glove to be successful.”

Sanders then pointed out that there’s meaning behind each person he brings in, rather than just putting on a show.

One thing is certain, the Buffaloes players have seen more success, both on and off the field, than many imagine this seaspn.
