Deion Sanders turned 55 years old on Tuesday, whether he wants to talk about it or not. To celebrate his birthday, Coach Prime had practice.

Jackson State football gets its 2022 season underway in the Orange Blossom Classic against Florida A&M on September 4th and he doesn’t have time to stop and celebrate. However, that didn’t stop him from bringing the absolute heat in terms of his b-day ‘fit.

In a very unique inside look at fall camp, one of the Tigers receivers went out to catch a pass during a one-on-one drill, but gave up on the play and dropped the ball. Sanders called him over and took the moment to instill some wisdom.

Rather than berating the player for dropping the pass and losing the drill, Coach Prime spoke to him about how football is a mental game. He explained that if the receiver has to keep his focus on himself and his task at hand. Rather than giving up on the play, Sanders told the receiver to stay locked-in and keep his mind sharp to ensure that he can control the play, rather than allowing the defensive back to take over.

In doing so, Coach Prime was firm, but not angry. He made sure to communicate his message and keep his player motivated.

While the behind-the-scenes look at Sanders’ coaching style was cool, his outfit was even cooler. Although it must have been hotter than hell, considering that he was wearing a hoodie in the dead of summer in Mississippi.

Coach Prime brought the heat, literally.
