DeMarcus Cousins has had an NBA career that the overwhelming majority of players could only dream of.

The 32-year-old is four-time NBA All-Star. He won gold medal with Team USA at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. And he’s made enough money to create generational wealth for his family.

If we’ve seen the last of Cousins in the NBA, he had an undeniably fantastic career.

But the man they call Boogie doesn’t feel like he’s done quite yet. Cousins still doesn’t have a championship to his name and he still believes he has a lot to give to a team.

How much? Well, more than you’d probably guess!

Cousins recently sat down with Kevin Garnett for the “KG Certified” podcast and revealed that he believes he’s still one of the game’s elite centers.

Garnett asked Cousins what he thought when he watches games and isn’t out there on the court. The response from Cousins had more than a few fans caught off guard

“Are you sitting here seeing yourself in play and all of that,” Garnett asked.

“Right now, I’m the third-best center in the league,” Cousins replied.

Mmmmm. Right now?,” Garnett responded with the sound of surprise in his voice.

Right now, I’m the third-best center in the league. I mean, I’m a fan of the game. I’m always watching. I’m always enjoying these guys talents and things of that nature. But the game is just in a different place from my perspective,” Cousins answered.

Assuming that Cousins is putting NBA MVP candidates Joel Embiid and Nikola Jokic in the top two spots, that would put him above names such as Bam Adebayo, Domantas Sabonis, Jaren Jackson Jr. and a host of others.

Mind you, Cousins has not played an NBA game in over a year. Fans were unconvinced by Cousins’ comment.

Who knows, maybe he’d surprise us all! But consider me unsold on that claim.
