Deshaun Watson’s agent David Mulugheta has an issue with FS1’s coverage of the Watson-Texans situation.
In a segment on FS1’s ‘Speak for Yourself” guest contributor “Uncle Jimmy’ criticized Watson for not keeping true to his contract by asking for a trade because “current generations of athletes were not raised by no man.”

The current generation of athletes weren’t raised by a man and how the hell are they going act like a man. See I thought a man, if he put his name on a contract that was all he needed to do, show up and go to work
Mulugheta felt FS1 and “Uncle Jimmy” were promoting racial stereotypes by implying Watson wasn’t raised by a man.
. @FS1 & @SFY the fact that you allowed this type of racist propaganda to be spewed on your show & had the nerve to post it on social media is mind blowing. You’re complicit in furthering the negative stereo-types not only black athletes face but African Americans as a whole. pic.twitter.com/Jl8u3jA3qT

‘Speak for Yourself’ co-host Emmanuel Acho says he didn’t agree with Uncle Jimmy’s take and that he could only speak about his own opinion on the matter.
My thoughts on Deshaun Watson from yesterday. The show is called “speak for yourself” I always have & can only, speak for myself.
I’m not responsible nor condone what anyone else says on the show. But I do call out the ignorance when I don’t have a hard out for commercial break pic.twitter.com/SKStdBbzwr

Update: ESPN’s Ryan Clark also had an issue with the Watson segment.
Seems @EmmanuelAcho should have an uncomfortable conversation with Uncle Jimmy. I guess having Uncle Ruckus on the Boondocks wasn’t enough. We had to give him a bigger stage to perpetuate stereotypes that those who oppose our advancement use as generalities of our reality. https://t.co/rsFnPIIAnl
