You know when professional sports teams hang ‘playoffs’ banners like participation trophies? This is kind of the t-shirt equivalent of that except it’s even worse. A store in Detroit is getting roasted on Twitter and TikTok for selling a ‘Detroit Rams’ t-shirt as a show of support for Matthew Stafford and while it’s well-intentioned it’s also hilariously sad.

It really is bittersweet for Detroit Lions fans who praised Matthew Stafford for 12 seasons as one of the league’s best quarterbacks but a player stuck on a mediocre team only to see him to the stacked Rams and go 3-0 in the playoffs. There are plenty of Lions fans who are salty about Stafford leaving but a LOT more Detroit fans are rooting for him to succeed.

These folks were hoping to cash in on the fans who remain faithful to Stafford but they didn’t really think through the optics of this. This wouldn’t be as embarrassing if Matthew Stafford had NFL Playoffs success with the Lions but as things stand it’s like a t-shirt version of being a parasite leeching off the life force of another vibrant and healthy creature. Now let’s see what the people are saying over on Twitter!

The D Line is getting roasted by Lions fans

Suffice it to say there will be a LOT of these Detroit Rams t-shirts leftover despite the Motor City being chock full of Matthew Stafford fans.
