Earlier this week, we learned Dianna Russini is on the verge of relaunching a career that was derailed by a scandal involving Mike Vrabel. It’s currently unclear what her new gig will be, but an internet detective uncovered some evidence that suggests it will be with a sportsbook that currently operates in a legal gray area.

Dianna Russini really started to make a name for herself in the sports media world after joining ESPN in 2015, and the NFL insider parlayed her experience at The Worldwide Leader to land a job at The Athletic in 2023.

However, her tenure there came to a pretty shocking end earlier this year, as she resigned from a gig where she was earning $800,000 a year after pictures that suggested she had a very cozy relationship with Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel surfaced in April.

The married mother of two has dropped out of the public eye since then, although there’s been growing speculation she’s been gearing up for a comeback over the past couple of months. Her return is supposedly imminent based on reports that surfaced earlier this week, and while she hasn’t officially announced what she’ll be doing, it would appear we know what company she’s joining forces with.

Some notable names in the sports media space said they’d be open to hiring Russini in the wake of the Vrabel scandal. That includes Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who said his company was not involved with the comeback Russini recently began to tease after reconnecting with some NFL sources who said she could return as soon as next week.

Some people speculated Russini would attempt to go the independent route by focusing on a podcast or a Substack, and others jumped to the conclusion she’d be linking up with one of the many names in the sports betting space.

According to Front Office Sports, it appears she will be going that second route, as one of its reporters tracked down a social media account for a show dubbed The Rusinni Report, which was created in October and was initially followed by multiple accounts affiliated with BetUS, a sportsbook based in Costa Rica that has been hit with multiple legal challenges in the United States.

The outlet notes the show originally had a bio that said it will air on Wednesday and be “powered by BetUS,” although the sponsored aspect has since been removed. It also spoke with sources who said Russini had discussions with iHeart and Betr, the platform affiliated with Jake Paul, but all signs point to BetUS being the winner in the sweepstakes.

No official announcement has been made, but it sounds like we could be treated to some official developments next week if Russini sticks with her rumored timeline.
