Oregon-based newscaster Brenna Greene wants to be abundantly clear that Dillon Gabriel was not high during his hilariously awkward interview at the College Football Playoff. The starting quarterback for the Ducks did not get stoned prior to a media availability session earlier this week.

Or did he? Probably (definitely) not, but we may never know the real truth. (Even though we do)

Gabriel will start the 64th game of his sixth-year college football career against Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. It has been a long journey for the former three-star prospect in the recruiting Class of 2019. He started at UCF, spent two seasons at Oklahoma and closed things out with one season in Eugene.

Not only did Oregon played a 13-game schedule prior to the postseason, it has to deal with the constant press junket that comes with the Playoff. The Ducks landed down in Pasadena on Sunday night. They were up bright and early on Monday to answer all kinds of random questions from reporters.

Dillon Gabriel is not a morning person, which quickly became apparent during his conversation with KOIN News sports anchor Brenna Greene. It was the funniest interview of the season thus far.

Among other things, Gabriel advocated for more games to be played in warm weather like the Rose Bowl and with an increased amount of pyrotechnics. He is a big fireworks guy. The more, the better.

To sum up his 78-second interview up in four simple points, Gabriel wants: fireworks, indoors, natural grass, and sunlight. Is that too much to ask?!

More than 8.5 million people have watched Greene’s interaction with the starting quarterback at Oregon. Many of them were/are convinced that he hit the penjamin prior to the media session. They thought/think Dillon Gabriel was off the reefer. It was definitely off the rails but cannabis was apparently not a factor.

Saying this once and once only: media day was at 8 AM and an hour. Dillon was not high.

He’s already silly and I’m sure the combined exhaustion of how early it was and the amount he was in demand probably contributed to this quote.

Kind of annoyed something innocent and funny has been co-opted butttt that’s the internet for you 🙄

Greene is probably (definitely) right. These guys are tired at this point in the season. They are just trying to have some fun and make the most of every moment. It was a fun interview. But with that being said, if Dillon Gabriel was actually high, how would the reporters know— unless he absolutely reeked of bud?
