For the past few months several golfers on the PGA tour have complained about unruly fans attending events, getting absolutely hammered, and yelling out random phrases during play.
“I may be somewhat of a fan favorite, but they weren’t holding back,” Rickie Fowler said. “The normal boos for missing a green, that’s fine, but leave the heckling to a minimum and make it fun.”
In February, Justin Thomas said, “I guess they think it’s funny.”
“But when people are now starting to time it wrong and get in people’s swings, it is completely unacceptable,” he said. “We’re out here playing for a lot of money, a lot of points, and a lot of things can happen. You would just hate to have something happen because of that.”
Golf superstar Rory McIlroy feels that the PGA should actually think about limiting alcohol sales at events to weed out disorderly fans.

“There was one guy out there who kept yelling my wife’s name,” said McIlroy. “I was going to go over and have a chat with him. I don’t know, I think it’s gotten a little much, to be honest. I think that they need to limit the alcohol sales on the course, or they need to do something because every week it seems like guys are complaining about it more and more.
“I know that people want to come and enjoy themselves and whatever, and I’m all for that, but sometimes when the comments get personal and people get a little bit rowdy it can get a little much. It used to be like you bring beers on to the course or buy beers but not liquor. And now it seems like everyone’s walking around with a cocktail or whatever. So I don’t know whether it’s just go back to letting people walk around with beers in their hand, that’s fine, but, I don’t know.”
This weekend officials at Augusta National are taking this up a notch and are removing drunk patrons from the Masters tournament who yell out certain phrases.
According to Bryan Ritchie of Bunkered online Bud Light’s viral catchphrase “Dilly Dilly” was on the list of banned phrases that would get you kicked out of the Masters.
We all know that there’s going to be one dude who’s going to yell “Dilly Dilly” this weekend so he can brag about getting kicked out of the Masters on social media.
