Last night, Blake Grffin was forced to leave the Clippers game against the Lakers after Austin Rivers dove for a ball and accidentally clipped the superstar forward in the knees.

After the game, Clippers coach Doc Rivers spoke to the media and for whatever reason blamed Lonzo Ball for Blake’s injury.

“Lonzo was just trying to make a play, but he went in and usually when you go in like that (makes grabbing motion) with that arm, but I think Lonzo knocked somebody into Blake and that was like a trigger effect. What can you do.”
Twitter had some thoughts about Doc Rivers blaming Lonzo and not his son for Blake’s injury.
Austin Rivers injures Blake Griffin, so Doc Rivers blames it on Lonzo. This is why parents shouldn't coach their kids. 🙄

What amuses me is that Doc Rivers, “Head Coach”, chose to stupidly point blame at Lonzo Ball, a rookie, for Blake Griffins injury when CLEARLY you can see that Doc’s little man, Austin Rivers, literally fell on Blake’s leg, thus causing the injury.

In Doc’s defense he probably hadn’t seen the replay at the time of the press conference, but it was clearly Austin who fell into Griffin.
As for Blake, the Clippers have set up an MRI for his this afternoon and the team is hoping for the best despite how serious it looked on the court.
If the Clippers lose Griffin for any period of time it could certainly doom the team which has been struggling all season out in the western conference.
